Colorado 2014 - Alderfer/Three Sisters Park

While we tried to do different things on our trip this year, we did do a few things that we just absolutely love like Castlewood Canyon and Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. This year, we took the Deering kids and the Ginsberg family with us and had a great time.

 The Three Sisters

This year, we climber to the top of the Brother, which is a little bit away from the Three Sisters and not quite as tall.

 The wildflowers were so pretty.
Rebecca tried to climb a Sister, but it's not easy to do with a passenger.
The view from the top of one of the Sisters.
Olivia and I both made it up.

Emma was happy to just be out of the carrier and sitting on the rocks.

A wonderful hike on a wonderful day with wonderful friends. That's why we go out there whenever we can. :)

Colorado 2014 - Mishap

Ezra did not fail us. There were multiple scrapes and bumps on the trip, as there are just about daily in our home, but Ezra once again gets the award for most dramatic and most bloody.

Don't you just love the pouty lip and sad face? :)

He has anxiety about going to bed in the dark at night time. He was probably overtired this day and threw one of his 4-year-old tantrums. It resulted in whacking his head on the bed rail. He got it really good. A large cut right in his eyebrow line. He didn't realize it at first but then there was blood all over. He really got upset at that point. He bled for a good long time. We used Helichrysum essential oil to get it to stop. He probably fussed and cried and kept rubbing it open to bleeding for a good 2 hours. At one point we got him calmed down and then he caught sight of himself in that mirror. It was like starting over. He wailed and screamed, "It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!" That kid! :)

Colorado 2014 - July 4th

If there's anyone who does the 4th of July right, it's the Beckers. They go all out every year with food, games, decorating and dressing up. This year was no exception.

The food was over the top!

Everyone dressed in red, white and blue.

We played a couple games of volleyball.

The kids had a potato sack race.
 They walked on "stilts".

One of the big highlights was digging through the sawdust pile to find prizes and coins.

There was a piñata filled with candy for the kids to work out their aggression on.

 They did a scavenger hunt.
And to cap the day off, they decorated their bicycles and rode in their own parade, led by Dave in his blue Nissan Z.

Everyone had such a wonderful day celebrating the birth of our great nation. It will be hard to come up with something to do next year if we aren't out there with them.
