No trip to camp is complete for us until we visit Buttermilk Falls in nearby Long Lake. It's a great place to splash and swim. This particular day was fairly cloudy and a little rainy but it was still well worth a dip in the creek.
There was a fairly deep pool in the bend right after the falls that was perfect for swimming.
Irene wasn't really sure about this...
but she warmed up to it once she realized she could throw rocks.
I showed the kids how to climb against the flow of the water and then float back down.
