Having Fun Learning

Writing in Rice. This has been very fun and a good learning tool for Gabe.

Don't you love his smile? He takes well to lots of encouragement. And how about that cute boy looking on from behind? Isn't he adorable? :)

Working on learning his name. The letters are cut apart so he can put them in order.
water play

This was an art activity that we did after reading Exodus 14, the story of the people leaving Egypt and crossing the Red Sea. It is meant to represent the path that God made for them to cross on. Then we were able to put the waters come back and drown the enemy.

Our Crew

It was a hot day so Olivia thought that an umbrella would give them some shade.

Hi! I'm Emma Lee Sarine

My name is Emma Lee Sarine. I am the fourth and very well loved child of Jeremy and Rebecca. I have some really cool older siblings, Olivia, Gabe, and Ezra, that love me very much. I am now 2 months old. I am already proving to be very social. I love to snuggle. I am beginning to give some smiles and goos. As you can see, I have really big eyes that light up. I know how to make my family smile and bring them joy. :)

Emma means whole or complete. She is made complete and loved completely by a big God and by us. She has all that she needs to be what God has designed her to be. She is not lacking. God sees her as a wonderful and beautiful masterpiece. She is his workmanship to be used to do good. We are blessed to be able to be apart of her life. Lee means meadow or 'to me'. We see God's awesome creative abilities and feel his mighty power and love through the nature around us as well as in the creation of this little one, our daughter. May she rest assured in God's love for her and easily find peace and refreshment in her walk through this life.
For we are his workmanship, created in Yeshua for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Purim 2012/5772

Happy Purim! The story of Esther is an amazing story. God is an amazing God! And it makes for a good remembrance and a fun celebration. Remembering the things that God has done in our lives can really carry us through harder times. And it is a gift to pass them on from one generation to the next.

Queen Esther

Mordecai
So Ezra liked his costume until he actually put it on. Oh well. :)

If you don't know, when the story is read we use noisemakers when the name Haman is read. Lots of fun for the kids. Noisemakers can be just about anything. Olivia made hers by stapling together some paper bowls with dried beans inside and then decorating the outside with scenes from the story.

A fun to make but difficult cookie. lets just say that i need some practice. ;) I tried chocolate peanut butter and then lemon poppyseed in a lemon cornmeal dough. I probably don't have to tell you which ones are mine. Thank goodness for the more experienced bakers with the better looking cookies.

We also played pin the Hamantaschan on Haman and pin the crown on Esther. Olivia, along with the bigger kids, made a origami Hamantaschan. Who would have thought. :)

Happenings

Ask Mr. Bear puppet show

Ask Mr. Bear activities, This was our Before Five in a Row book last week. It was a favorite. We discussed birthdays (always a popular subject), thinking and solving problems, memory work with sequencing and retelling the story, animal sounds (mostly for Ezra), and farms versus woodland habitats.

The kids really enjoy making up games together now. Often Olivia can be a bit bossy and Gabe has a tendency to be disagreeable but overall they have a good time and really enjoy being together. ;)

Hanging Out

Emma is now smiling at me and spending time "talking". She is very social. She has different smiles...half smiles and full smiles. Ooos and Goos and almost little laughs. This picture was taken late one night when we really should have been sleeping but of course the time was sweet too. :)
